The 2007 Wimbledon final is the middle installment of the Federer Nadal Wimbledon final trilogy that occurred between these great rivals in the years 2006, 2007, & 2008. Each match was better than the last, capped off by the monumental 2008 final. The 2006 final had been well contested over 4 sets. But, Nadal was clearly tight in his first Wimbledon final and lost the first set 6-0. The 2007 match had no lapses of this kind as Federer manages a five set win after much drama and brilliant play for both men. This match is great and is one of Federer and Nadal's classic contests. It is overshadowed by the 2008 final, but it marks the crest of Federer's achievement as he claims his 5th straight Wimbledon title in this match. Nadal would gain his 1st Wimbledon crown in the 2008 rematch with Federer. Federer would win his 5th consecutive US Open in 2008.
