Shane Carwin , born January 4, 1975 in Greeley, Colorado , is an Americanmixed martial arts ( MMA) practitioner now retired from competition. He played from 2008 to 2011 in the heavyweight category of the Ultimate Fighting Championship . He is also an engineer by profession. He made himself notable with an unbeaten streak of twelve fights, all in the first round. His first loss was to Brock Lesnar at UFC 116 by second-round submission, in a fight billed as the greatest fight in UFC heavyweight history, a title fight . 
Shane Carwin is particularly renowned for his qualities as a puncher, his hands being extremely bulky, he declared on this subject, before his fight against Lesnar: "If I touch you with my hands, you fall" ("When my hands touch people they go down")  . He was ranked 5thin the heavyweight rankings before his fight against Lesnar by the specialist site Sherdog .
